School Council and Parent Society Meetings
We welcome and encourage all parents and caregivers to get involved in School Council. Our meetings are a great place to hear from the school administration, ask questions, share ideas, and get involved. School Council will start at 6:00 pm, followed by the Parent Society Meeting. January Band Society Meeting
The next DTS Band Society meeting will be Wednesday, January 24th at 7:00 pm via Microsoft Teams. Click here to join the meeting. All band families are encouraged to attend these monthly meetings. You will receive information on upcoming events, including band camp, festivals and performances.

Parent Engagement: Supporting Youth Targeted by Aggression and Cyberbullying For Parents
Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 6:30pm - 8:15pm 
We invite you to join us for a special parent engagement night online for a special interactive presentation aimed to help parents and caregivers support youth who may find themselves subject to various forms of aggression online. The White Hatter, an internet safety and digital literacy education specialist company, will outline concerning signs to look for. The diverse forms of aggression takes will be examined ranging from simple messages, threats of violence to more elaborate hacks.
Many topics in the program are applicable to people of all ages who are being targeted. This program addresses:
- Potential Challenges and Prevention Process
- Types of aggressors: schoolmates, friends, random online encounters
- The forms aggression can take – stalking, aggressive messages, hacks, doxing
- How to protect from common aggression forms
- Identifying situations that need responses
- Response Process
- Assessing the Risk
- Technological solutions from settings changes to complete disconnects
- Working with law enforcement and your child’s school
- What information you should need to collect and provide
- Recovery Process
- Tools available to you as a caregiver
- Monitoring for any future encounters
- Legal actions
- Live Broadcasting of this program includes a Q&A portion
Students participated in the presentations on January 16th at school. We would like to thank our Parent Society for their financial support!

Y Mind Teen
Y Mind Teen is a free seven-week mental wellness program for teens who are aged 13 to 18 based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness.
This free program brings young people who have similar thoughts and feelings together. Participants learn evidence-based skills from trained mental health professionals and report feeling reduced anxiety, increased well-being and feeling less alone following the program.
