Principal Message

It has been an amazing first semester and I am delighted to have the opportunity to take a moment and celebrate all of our successes. I could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication that each and every student has put into the past few months. From the academic achievements of our students to the fine arts and athletic accomplishments, the entire community should be proud of the progress that has been made at David Thompson School.

Students have worked hard to achieve their academic goals and have demonstrated knowledge and skills that have set them up for success in the future. I am impressed by the commitment they have made to continue learning and growing.

I am so impressed with the work ethic, commitment and good sportsmanship exhibited by our teams in the first term, including: basketball, cross country and soccer.  In addition, the outstanding performances by our band students demonstrate the drive and commitment of our school to excel in all areas. I know that the second semester will bring more success, and I am eager to see what our students will accomplish.

I also want to acknowledge the commitment of our parents, who are vital partners.  I extend my sincere gratitude for your invaluable involvement in your child's education at David Thompson School. Your unwavering support plays a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment, and we appreciate your partnership in shaping the academic journey of our students.

I am confident that our students will continue to demonstrate the same dedication and enthusiasm that has been shown in the first semester. I want to thank each and every one of them for their contributions to our school. From the teachers and staff that work hard to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences, to the students that challenge themselves to do better and work harder, our school has been lifted beyond measure by their commitment and dedication.

I am looking forward to the second semester and all the wonderful experiences that it will bring. I have no doubt that the hard work and dedication of our students and staff will continue to propel us forward in all aspects of our school life.

Alberta Education Assurance Survey

Every year, Alberta Education surveys students, their parents and all teachers on behalf of schools and school authorities to assess what is working well and where there is room for improvement. The survey asks students in grades 4, 7 and 10 and their parents about their thoughts, feelings and experiences in school.  Parents and guardians of children in grade 7 this year will be issued a single-use Random Access Code mailed through Canada Post to complete the survey online.   Your voice matters, and we truly appreciate your participation.
