Winter Break Message

We would like to take a moment to recognize the global tapestry of traditions that unfold during the winter solstice.  From Christmas adorned with festive lights and carols to Dong Zhi's reverence for family and the longest night, each tradition encapsulates unique customs. Inti Raymi in the Andes, Toji in Japan, Kwanzaa's 7 principles, and Hanukkah's eight candles also contribute to this rich mosaic. Across the globe, the Winter Solstice holds profound significance, particularly for Indigenous peoples, who honor nature's rhythm and connection to the land. Today, let's embrace the unity in our diversity and cherish the shared spirit of seasonal celebration. The staff of David Thompson School wish all of you a wonderful holiday season.
