Hello Tiger Families!

As you may be aware, a province-wide teacher strike is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 6, 2025 and the classes will not be in session. This will affect school operations, including extracurricular activities and planned trips.

  • All trips scheduled during October, will be postponed. We are working with providers to explore rescheduling options and will share updates once confirmed.
  • Games, practices, and club activities planned for next week will also be postponed until school resumes.
  • CBE will continue to share central updates, please check your email regularly for official notices.

We know this news may be disappointing for students and families who have been looking forward to these opportunities. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support as we adjust. Please know that our school community is approaching this with steadiness and care. These next days bring uncertainty for students, families, and staff alike. While we cannot predict how long the disruption may last, we are committed to walking through it together with patience, compassion, and kindness. Again, we are grateful for your partnership in supporting student learning at David Thompson School and I know that we will navigate this time with understanding and care for one another as the strong school community we are. We look forward to welcoming students as soon as we are able.

Warmly,

The David Thompson School Team

Terry Fox

We are thrilled to share the final fundraising total from our Terry Fox Run, it's truly inspiring! In addition to the $700 raised through our online platform, we have now counted an additional $1,300 collected through loonies, toonies, and generous staff donations. That brings our total to an incredible $2,000 which is a full $1,000 more than our original goal! A special shout-out goes to all the students who went the extra mile (literally!) by running additional laps, knowing their effort would directly increase the donation from Dr. Munroe. Your determination and spirit made a real impact, and we couldn’t be more proud.
