School Council and Parent Society Meetings
The first school council and parent society meetings will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm. This meeting will be held in person at David Thompson School in the learning commons. We hope to see you there!
Meet the Teacher and BBQ
Thursday, September 19 is David Thompson School’s Meet the Teacher Night! Come meet teachers, enjoy a hot dog, and take a tour of the school. This event is an opportunity to see where children learn, meet teachers, and learn about D2L, homework expectations and classroom procedures.
· 5:00 - 6:30 Hotdogs available in the atrium. To reduce our environmental footprint and avoid long lineups at the fountains, we ask attendees to bring their own filled, reusable water bottle.
· 5:30 - 7:15 Meet your child’s teachers, explore the school, shop the book fair, and meet members of the school council.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Busses drop off and pick up students in front of the school along Arbour Crescent. In addition, caregivers are reminded that the school parking lot is not to be used for student pick up. Also, Arbour Crescent is very congested because buses drop off in the front of the school. As such, parents are encouraged to use 5th Street SE, which is easier to access and safer for our students as well. If you arrive before 7:40 am or arrive after 8:00 am, you are welcome to drop off in front. Pay attention to traffic signs.

· Sept 12 @ 2:45pm o 4:00pm
· Sept 17 @ 2:45pm – 4:00pm
· All students in grades 6 to 9 are welcome to come!
Cross Country Meets
- Sept 17 @ 4:30 pm at North Glenmore Park
- Sept 23 @ 4:30 pm at North Glenmore Park
Field Trips
- Sept 26 - Grade 7 Outdoor Ed. Canoe Field Trip
