- The course selection process occurs online. Course selection is not first come first served, so please be assured that you have time to make thoughtful selections for options and core classes. The form – 2025-26 Course Selection Form – French Immersion – will be open from January 23 – February 23.
Student services at Lord Beaverbrook School will be on site at David Thompson School to support with course selections on February 18th.
Candygrams!
A big thank you to Leadership students for taking up the work of Candygrams! It was a joy to see so many kind messages shared around the building! What a wonderful way to head into the long weekend.
Semaine de la francophonie et concours
Congratulations to students who worked so hard writing speeches to be shared during concours. It fills my heart to see students taking up language in such a beautiful, intentional way and sharing such big, well-considered ideas! Bravo tout le monde!
The École David Thompson School semaine de la francophonie is coming up March 3-7 and will include Métis jigging, delicious crepes, cabane à sucre and many activities to celebrate French language and culture around the world. We can’t wait to celebrate together!
Mme Kim is seeking volunteers for March 5th to support with set up and clean up of our event with Crêpe Delicious. If you’re willing to support with all or part of this day, please email kncollins@cbe.ab.ca
Well-Being Symposium
The École David Thompson School Well-Being Advisory Group attended CBE’s first ever Middle Years Well-Being Symposium on January 28th. This unique event brought together students from across the board to discuss well-being in our schools and how we work together to make our schools even better. We look forward to bringing this work back to our Tiger Buzz Advisory group and to our Homerooms to ripple the work out to the entire school!
Pink Shirt Day
This year, Pink Shirt Day, or Anti-Bullying Day, is on February 26. This important day is centred around the ideas of diversity, inclusion and acceptance. It is a day when people come together by wearing pink shirts to school or work to show they are against bullying. Please join us in raising awareness and lending your voice to this important movement by wearing pink on this day.
